Flowers are often enjoyed for their beautiful pops of color in the garden, but can have a far more important job. Besides the fact that many beautiful blooms are also edible and/or medicinal ~ they also play the important role of drawing in pollinators. The added pollinators are likely to do some extra work pollinating your other crops, as well as do their part in keeping the ecosystem of your garden balanced. Gardeners will always have to deal with pests, but each year people understand more and more about the beneficial insects that can be our side kicks in managing the naughty pests.
