Bean Varieties
Beans have many uses in the home garden, and seem to be a staple in most kitchens. When planting beans it is important to know if they are a bush bean: growing in a small compact bush form, or a pole bean: vining growth habit that will need some kind of trellis system to stay off the ground. More defining information about if it is a shelling bean (to be harvested when mature for the bean seed inside the pod shell) or a snap bean that is picked when the pod is young and tender.
