Chicken – Duck Eggs

** UPDATE 2/8/25 Last fall we cut back on the number of poultry we have….We had quite the timing. We hope to offer some duck eggs in the farmstand later this season, but will not be keeping up with the demand. Our new neighbors across the road (Amish) raise Egg laying chickens if you are looking for some!**

Our Farm Fresh eggs are left unwashed when it is acceptable. Since birds free range outside, most eggs are required to be washed in the wet/muddy spring months. Once eggs are washed, they must be refrigerated. If they are unwashed they are able to be left out on the counter for several weeks.

Duck Eggs $5/Dozen

Duck eggs have a slightly different taste than chicken eggs, but are delicious and with extra large size, more protein and minerals makes them a great addition to your meals. We raise Ancona Ducks, they are a great old breed that was saved by the Livestock Conservancy that makes a good homestead dual purpose bird. All of our ducks are able to range inside of a large run, we would want the free range completely but they make a mess of things in a hurry. They are fed a non-gmo, soy free feed that is grown locally. The farmer follows organic methods, but is not certified.

Chicken Eggs $4/Dozen

Our chickens are a barn yard mix that is mostly comprised of Whiting True Blue‘s and Green’s. These chickens are allowed to free range where ever they would like since they can jump the fence that is used to contain ducks in a certain area. They are also fed a a non-gmo, soy free feed that is grown locally. The farmer follows organic methods, but is not certified.
